Does fear keep you from protecting yourself from cancer? \nJoin Families Fighting Hereditary Cancer and the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center for a free one-hour workshop designed to empower you to fight cancer through proactive screenings. \nWHAT YOU WILL LEARN: \n\n\nCancer Screening Guidelines for early detection of cancer and tips on how to talk to your doctor to ensure you get the tests you need by the American Cancer Society\, Associate Director of Community Partnerships\, Sara Richter. Sara works across Wisconsin to develop and strengthen partnerships with community clinics and organizations\, helping expand access to cancer prevention\, early detection\, treatment resources\, and survivorship support for individuals and families statewide. \n\n\nStrategies for conquering “Scanxiety”–defined as anxiety before\, during\, or after medical scans. Alana Yanagida\, LCSW\, Behavioral Health Therapist at Inova Seville Cancer Screening and Prevention Center\, will share practical tools to manage the stress and worry surrounding cancer screenings.
