Panel Discussion: Strategies to Increase Clinical Trial Participation for Diverse Communities

April 17 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

As the FDA Office of Minority Health and Health Equity (OMHHE) kicks off National Minority Health Month (NMHM), we invite you to join our ongoing efforts this month to advance health equity and reduce health disparities among racial and ethnic minority and other diverse populations. This year’s theme, Be the Source for Better Health: Improving Health Outcomes Through Our Cultures, Communities, and Connections, highlights the important role of diverse communities, organizations, and individuals in organizations in achieving the OMHHE mission.

Strategies to Increase Clinical Trial Participation for Diverse Communities, A Panel Discussion with the OMHHE REACH Consortium will feature opening remarks from Principal Deputy Commissioner of FDA, Dr. Namandjé N. Bumpus. During the virtual event, members of the consortium, representing organizations and researchers working in diverse communities throughout the nation, will discuss their ongoing work with REACH to improve clinical trial participation among racial and ethnic minority, rural, urban, and other communities they serve.

OMHHE established the Racial and Ethnic Minority Acceleration Consortium for Health Equity (REACH) in 2023. REACH is a research consortium of diverse organizations and institutions that aims to timely and efficiently help respond to health equity needs.

This event will be broadcast live over Zoom.
