ACCELERATING HEALTH EQUITY CONFERENCE

May 16 - May 18

The Institute for Diversity and Health Equity and AHA Community Health Improvement are hosting their annual conference on May 16-18, 2023 in Minneapolis, MN. The conference will bring together front-line leaders from hospitals, health systems, community-based organizations and public health to advance health equity.

What to expect:

  • Leading voices in the fight against health inequities sharing the latest insights, ideas and success stories;
  • Breakout sessions packed with insights and resources you can bring back to your organization;
  • Peer-to-peer conversations on issues and opportunities that matter most to you;
  • How-to workshops and interactive problem-solving activities.

AHA is excited to announce that Pulitzer-Prize winning author, journalist and National Humanities Medal recipient Isabel Wilkerson will give the opening keynote address. Wilkerson’s debut book, The Warmth of Other Suns, follows the journey of three African Americans fleeing the repressive Jim Crow south, as they join six million more in what would come to be known as America’s Great Migration. Her second book, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, examines the laws and practices that led to a Black and white caste system – or hierarchy – in the United States.
