New cases fell to 73 in Monday’s Covid-19 summary from the Delaware Division of Public Health.
The continuing sharp drop in cases led Gov. John Carney to end the state of emergency and terminate restrictions at schools and most state buildings effective at 6 p.m. on March 1.
There were no deaths reported, keeping Delaware’s total number of Covid-related deaths at 2,709.
The other numbers:
• 73 new positive cases, bringing the overall total to 256,621. The cumulative breakdown by county: New Castle, 145,343 cases; Kent, 49,617; Sussex, 60,741; county not yet known, 920.
• 4.3% of total tests were positive in the seven-day rolling average (down one-tenth of a percent from the previous day).
• 90 current hospitalizations, up nine from the previous day), including 11 individuals in critical condition.
• Eight new hospital admissions (up by six from the previous day).
• 3,299 tests were performed daily in the seven-day average (down 63 from the previous day).
• 657,871 people fully vaccinated (total for today not yet updated on the CDC Vaccine Tracker).
• 1,731,951 total vaccine doses.
