Building the Bridge to Vaccine Equity | Center for Sustainable Health Care Quality and Equity

This webinar is part of a hybrid vaccine equity summit happening at the same time in Indiana. It is a free opportunity to delve into flu and vaccine equity and learn strategies for effective community outreach and engagement. Participants will have the opportunity for CE credit and leave as recognized Community Pharmacists Ambassadors.

National Minority Quality Forum

Dr. Laura Lee Hall brings 20 years plus of executive experience leading health advocacy, research, education, and quality improvement efforts. Dr. Hall founded the Center for Sustainable Health Care Quality and Equity (SHC) in 2016 as part of the National Minority Quality Forum to help translate data, geomaps, and educational efforts into improved health in underserved communities, through provider and community education and practice improvement. SHC has launched national initiatives in flu and COVID vaccination, diabetes, heart failure, and cancer screenings, working with FQHCs, other clinics, pharmacists, churches, and other community leaders. The work has led to freely available toolkits for clinicians and communications, including DRIVE QI modules (SHCDrive.org) and the health champions program (see: http://ai-healthnet.com/health-champi….

Donney John, PharmD
Executive Director
NOVA ScriptsCentral

Dr. John is the Executive Director of NOVA ScriptsCentral an award winning non-profit charitable pharmacy that provides life saving medication and education to uninsured patients in the Northern Virginia area. He is a practicing pharmacist, patient advocate, healthcare consultant and entrepreneur.

Dr. John has also worked in academia serving as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences where he developed innovative ambulatory care practice sites within federally qualified community health centers. He has worked to train healthcare professionals in the areas of health literacy and cultural competency in order to address health dispartities. In 2017, he was named as one of the 40 under 40 Thought Leaders in Health by the National Minority Quality Forum.

Dr. John currently serves as the Chair of the National Minority Quality Forum Advisory Board.

Dr. John holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. John’s University in Queens, New York and has completed a pharmacy residency with Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences.

Julie Caldwell, RPh, BS Pharm
Manager, Immunization Services
Walgreens

Julie Caldwell is currently a Manager of Immunization Services at Walgreens. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, and bleeds orange! Hook ’em Horns! She has been working as a pharmacist for nearly 30 years and is proud of her ability to grow and learn across various roles which have come her way over that span, both within Walgreens and within the Healthcare industry as a whole.

Prior to her current role, Julie held board positions with AIDSWalk South Dallas advocating for underserved patients living with HIV/AIDS, and on the Local AIDS Pharmaceutical Assistance board which works to ensure patients can receive needed medications when other programs are insufficient.

Crystal Hollins, PT, DPT
New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Health Ministry

Crystal Hollins PT, DPT graduate of the University of Findlay, with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. In her nearly 20 years of practice, she has worked in various orthopedic physical therapy settings including sports medicine, other physical therapy settings, pediatrics, geriatrics, and work injury management.

Crystal places a lot of time and effort into philanthropy and is a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church (NHMBC) led by Dr. Hosie Hopkins where she serves as the Health and Wellness Team Leader.
