The Spanish American Institute (SAI) Board of Directors offers $1,000 scholarships yearly to qualifying United Methodist Youth preparing to attend a four-year college, a two-year community college program, or an accredited technical/vocational school. Latino Youth who are members of a California-Pacific Conference United Methodist Church and who have been active for at least a year are invited to apply.
Scholarship applicants must:
- be a member of a local Cal-Pac Conference United Methodist Church,
- have been in service with the local church for a minimum of one year,
- provide a letter of recommendation from the local pastor/youth leader, and
- complete the SAI/UMC application process.

In partnership with the TELACU Education Foundation (TEF), scholarships for $2,000 in memory of SAI Gardena Alumnus Cesar Lizárraga are also available. For more information, please email info@saischolars.org.
