The “Restoring Safeguards for Dangerous Abortion Drugs Act” seeks to restore the Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) requirements, which included critical safeguards like in-person medical supervision and proper screening for conditions that make chemical abortion especially dangerous. For years, these commonsense protections were in place to ensure that women had direct access to medical care in case of complications – complications that the abortion lobby has often downplayed or outright ignored.
