On Wednesday May 18, Argentina counted its population in a single day. A public holiday had been decreed, and 650,000 census takers crisscrossed the country in every corner. Two areas have been added to the previous questionnaire, dating from 2010: self-perception of gender identity and that of ethnicity, whether linked to native peoples or Afro-descendants.
