‘Yellowstone’ actor Forrie J Smith will not attend the ‘Screen Actors Guild Awards’ ceremony later this month as he has not been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as required by the event. Smith announced his absence from the awards ceremony, which is scheduled for February 27, in a now-deleted video posted on Instagram this week.
According to the guidelines, everyone attending the ‘Screen Actors Guild Awards’ must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and, if eligible, they should have also received a booster shot. In addition, attendees must submit a negative coronavirus PCR test taken within 48 hours of arriving at the ceremony. On the day of the event, all attendees will be subjected to a rapid test. Additionally, KN95 or FF94 masks must be worn at all times during the event, according to the organization. However, there are some exceptions to the rule, such as when people are on the red carpet or in the media, when they are on camera in the showroom, or when they are eating or drinking.

Smith, 62, who was nominated for outstanding performance for his role in ‘Yellowstone’, expressed regret for being unable to attend. He claimed he had not received an initial COVID-19 vaccination series or a booster shot, and he appeared to mock the mask requirement for the event. He explained, “I want to apologize to y’all for not being at the ‘Screen Actors Guild Awards.’ I mean no offense to anyone. I’m not vaccinated, and it’s a requirement to be vaccinated.” The actor claims he hasn’t been vaccinated since he was a “little kid,” and he doesn’t vaccinate his dogs or horses either. He also stated that he has never received a flu shot and will never receive one, Daily Mail reports.
Smith added, “I’m not vaccinated, I will not get vaccinated. I haven’t been vaccinated since I was a little kid. I don’t vaccinate my dogs, I don’t vaccinate my horses. I’ve never had a flu shot. I never will. I believe they compromise your immunities… It’s just my beliefs. I just don’t believe in that stuff. Whatever.” He went on to say that he was “looking forward to walking down the red carpet in my big black American hat and my Justin boots and representing my culture and heritage, but I’m not gonna be able to do that, and I apologize to y’all out there that are part of my culture and heritage. I won’t be representing us at the Screen Actors Guild Awards walking down the red carpet….”.
