The Biden administration has unveiled a collection of action plans outlining governmentwide strategies aimed at advancing equity and racial justice in underserved communities.

The White House said Thursday more than 90 federal departments and agencies have released their equity action plans that detail their commitment to making federal services more accessible to all Americans in accordance with an executive order President Joe Biden signed on his first day in office.

The Department of Defense plans to develop a more diverse workforce for artificial intelligence research and development projects by increasing investments in minority-serving institutions and historically Black colleges and universities.

A new plan from the Small Business Administration seeks to assist businesses and entrepreneurs in underserved communities in securing capital and resources by streamlining program applications.

Another plan from NASA is focused on increasing the participation of contractors and businesses from underserved communities in the space agency’s procurement efforts and enhancing grants and cooperative agreements.

The departments of Labor, Housing and Urban Development, Transportation, Justice, Commerce and Health and Human Services also outlined their plans to advance equity in underserved communities.
